The Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) is coming to Rennsport

Competition Company has announced that the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) will be included in the alpha version of the upcoming Rennsport racing simulator.

The GT3 Cup is the first racing car of the current 992 generation to feature a wide turbo-spec body and produces around 375 kW (510 hp). It also has the ability to run on synthetic fuels, reducing CO2 emissions during races.

Rennsport is preparing for its beta release. Before that, players in the alpha version will have the chance to see a new Porsche: the 911 GT3 R (992). After rFactor 2 released its Porsche 992 DLC for Christmas, Rennsport will be the next developer to add a car from the 992 series to its lineup.

Some GT3 cars and the Porsche Mission E concept car have been confirmed, which suggests a greater variety of races in RennSport beyond GT3, as we see in Assetto Corsa Competizione. The developers also hope to include rally and historical cars, which could make this simulator very versatile.

Porsche 911 GT3 R 992 Release Date Announced

Rennsport has announced the release of the Porsche 911 GT3 R 992 on January 6th, 2023. If you already have access to the game, you will be able to drive this new addition along with the 911 GT3, Mission R, BMW M4, and Audi R8 LMS Evo II GT3 cars.

The team behind Rennsport shared more information about the sim just before Christmas, including the fact that certain cars, tracks, and features will be available without the need for a full game subscription, and there will be a rating system for online competition.

RennSport will be released first on PC, with support for VR, and although a console version has not been confirmed, it has not been completely ruled out. The currently planned pricing model is interesting, as the game will be free for limited content, with the rest locked behind “paywalls”.

See you on the track!
