For the 2023 season, the Skip Barber Racing School will host the Skip Barber Formula iRacing Series, where drivers will compete during five weeks of action for the biggest prize in motorsports: a fully funded seat in the real-world Skip Barber Formula Race Series.

The Formula iRacing Series includes a weekly Hot Lap qualifying, where drivers attempt to set the fastest laps to get into the race. From there, the top 20 drivers of the week will compete in races where points will be accumulated based on their final position. Between the qualifying and the race of that week, drivers will have the opportunity to receive guidance from the instructors of the Skip Barber Racing School in online test sessions. With over $500,000 in prizes at stake, the final winner will receive a seat in the Skip Barber Formula Race Series.

Drivers will compete in the iRacing Formula iR-04, iRacing’s equivalent to the Skip Barber Formula Car, on five circuits from the 2023 Skip Barber Formula Race Series calendar, including virtual versions of VIRginia International Raceway, Lime Rock Park, Road Atlanta, Circuit of the Americas, and Road America. Through our ongoing partnership with iRacing, the world’s most important racing simulation, the weekly races will be broadcast on iRacing.com/live, the official home of iRacing live coverage.
