Thrustmaster has revealed the SimTask Truck-40 Add-On Kit at Gamescom 2026, combining a large 40 cm steering wheel with an adjustable metal mounting system designed specifically for truck and heavy-vehicle simulation.
Thrustmaster is expanding its SimTask ecosystem with the new SimTask Truck-40 Add-On Kit, a dedicated heavy-vehicle simulation package scheduled to arrive in October 2026. The company is presenting the new hardware at Gamescom as an option for players looking for a more realistic driving position in titles such as Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator.
The main component is a substantial 40 cm steering wheel, considerably larger than a conventional sim racing rim and closer to the dimensions expected in a truck or other heavy vehicle. According to Thrustmaster, the Truck-40 is designed for PC and consoles and will work across its wheelbase ecosystem. Thrustmaster’s official product page currently lists October 2026 availability, although pricing has not yet been announced.
22 Controls and Adjustable Truck Driving Position
The Truck-40 features 22 action buttons, providing direct access to the large number of controls commonly required in truck simulation. Gamescom information also shows compatibility with both generations of Thrustmaster’s detachable wheel quick-release systems.
The package includes an adjustable metal support designed to position the wheel more horizontally, recreating the steering angle found in trucks and heavy machinery rather than the more vertical position used in racing cars.
According to information from the Gamescom presentation, the support offers four height positions and up to 30 degrees of tilt adjustment, allowing users to adapt the driving position to their desk and simulator setup. The new product builds on Thrustmaster’s existing SimTask range, which already includes the SimTask Steering Kit and FarmStick for trucking, farming and heavy-equipment simulators.
Thrustmaster has not yet announced the retail price or exact October release date for the SimTask Truck-40 Add-On Kit. The company is currently allowing users to register for product updates ahead of pre-orders, with more commercial details expected closer to launch.
