This October, Thrustmaster is making a splash at SimRacing Expo Dortmund — showcasing several new products that aim straight at the hearts of sim racers, from high-end enthusiasts to determined newcomers. Let’s break down what’s coming, when you can get it, and why it matters.
Iconic GT Wheel Add-On: Standalone and Upgraded
One surprise at this year’s expo is the relaunch of Thrustmaster’s original T-GT Gran Turismo wheel rim as a standalone add-on. Officially licensed by PlayStation and Gran Turismo, the new rim will be compatible with the T598 and T818 via the updated quick-release system — which means owners of flagship bases can upgrade easily. Measuring 28cm with real leather, aluminium rotary dials, and integrated PlayStation buttons, the add-on brings game menu navigation and on-the-fly control to the cockpit.
Availability is scheduled for early 2026, and the suggested retail price will be €249.99 (UK and US pricing to be announced). For the first time, you can now get the classic GT experience without purchasing the complete bundle.
T818 Black Edition: Premium Performance Revisited
Thrustmaster’s T818 direct drive base gets a sleek refresh through the new Black Edition — showcased with private coaching sessions at the expo. Sim racers can test every setting, feel the improved force feedback and braking precision, and even get tips from professional driver and Thrustmaster ambassador Kamil Pawlowski.
The Black Edition launches as part of a Ferrari-themed pack, which includes the 488 GT3 Wheel Add-On and the modular Raceline Pedals LTE.
Formula Wheel Add-On Ferrari SF-25 Edition
Formula fans aren’t left out. The new Formula Wheel Add-On Ferrari SF-25 Edition is designed for those wanting the best possible realism. Featuring the new quick release system, T-Chrono Paddles, and improved button labelling, it maintains the same price range as the earlier model. The SF-25 Edition is expected to arrive later this year, between November and December, though exact dates are yet to be confirmed.
Raceline Pedals LTE and Load Cell Upgrade
Finally, Thrustmaster is expanding its pedal lineup with the Raceline Pedals LTE and an optional load cell upgrade kit. The new pedal set delivers professional-grade braking feedback and high customization potential. The load cell upgrade will be available separately, allowing sim racers to retrofit their existing setups rather than purchase a complete new unit.
Pricing and release windows haven’t been finalized, but the launch is expected during the 2025 holiday season.
In Summary
Thrustmaster’s 2025 lineup reflects its renewed focus on freedom and modularity. From direct-drive expansion to customizable pedals and Ferrari-licensed hardware, the brand is aiming to meet sim racers wherever they are on their journey.
