That is why we bring you the 10 simulators/simcades with more active players on PC. To get these numbers, we have been guided by the steamdb.info page, where complete statistics on prices, number of players at the moment, a history of activity in recent months, etc. are reflected. In the case of iRacing, the simulator itself has a counter of active players in the simulator in real time at the bottom of the web page. On the other hand, games such as Forza Motorsport, which are in another store or do not have a counter of their own, have not been included in the list due to not being able to obtain the data.
It should be noted that this list talks about players in general, it does not discriminate between players who are in the menus, racing against the AI, in tests or in multiplayer. So these numbers do not indicate 100% how active the multiplayer is to be able to get races easily, but obviously, the more people are playing the game, the more multiplayer races can be found.
10: AUTOMOBILISTA 2
The latest simulator from the Brazilians of Reiza Studios is not having a big gap in the market, having a low average of 187 simultaneous players. A not inconsiderable number for a game that is about to turn 3 years old, but that due to the mods or its low price in times of sales, offers guaranteed fun for Formula 1 fans.
8: RFACTOR 2
The considered best simulator on the market by many, thanks to its physics and handling, is far from being the number 1 in participation. Being a great reference in the mod community over the years, it is strange to see that they only have an average of 626 players simultaneously. Although with the work they have been doing for a couple of months of scheduled races in different categories and the realization of large races for the quarantine, has seen its active player base has risen a lot over the last few years.
7: RACEROOM
In the case of Raceroom, it has suffered an effect very similar to that of rFactor 2 with the implementation of official scheduled races and a ranking within the simulator, where it has seen its community grow, however, there has been a downward trend in recent weeks where it is currently with an average of 690 simultaneous players. Perhaps it is because not many people consider it a great simulator, beyond its great sound section.
6: F1 2019
The second game of the F1 franchise on this list is in the number 6 position, with a not inconsiderable average of 770 simultaneous players. Considering that it is a game from almost two seasons ago now, having such a high amount of active players is not bad at all, so it will surely keep F1 2019 multiplayer alive.
5: PROJECT CARS 2
The latest serious release from Slightly Mad Studios is ahead of many of the purest and hardest simulators, thanks to its wide variety of cars and circuits, with an easy adaptation to the handling and the possibility of racing with a controller without many problems. All this makes it has an average of 783 simultaneous players. Not bad for a game despised by many purists.
4: ASSETTO CORSA COMPETIZIONE
The official game of the GT World Challenge is growing more and more due to the constant improvements and new content that it is acquiring, even when it is not the simulator with the largest number of categories, or circuits, or mods support. But thanks to the handling and the sensations that the simulator gives, added to its graphics, makes it a great experience to compete. In addition to this, it has official races scheduled both by the game itself and by external organizers, which makes it have an average of 2384 simultaneous players.
3: ASSETTO CORSA
In third place we have the simulator that dethroned rFactor 2 years ago in the mods and driving sensations section, which added to its current very low price and its large amount of official content, is considered by many the first simulator you should try if you want to get into the world of simracing. In addition, thanks to external organizers, it also has multiplayer races scheduled every hour, which makes its community one of the most active in simracing with an average of 4960 simultaneous players.
2: F1 2020
Undoubtedly, the name “Formula 1” put on the covers of any game makes you instantly have thousands of people playing, and if we add to that a fairly complete, fun and accessible simcade, with many game modes and a very active multiplayer, it is not surprising that we see that it has an average of 5874 simultaneous players.
