Will iRacing add Nashville Superspeedway before June 20th?

As we all know, the relationship that iRacing and NASCAR have is so close, that they have even launched the virtual version of the next generation in iRacing a few weeks ago. In addition, they have also prepared a virtual circuit on the streets of Chicago so that NASCAR can test how the races would be on this circuit and add them to their regular schedule.

This relationship has made iRacing the official NASCAR simulator, counting with all the circuits where the entire NASCAR season is racing, something that is understandable knowing that the developers are as American as a dollar bill.

But if we look at the calendar of the current NASCAR season we can notice that there is a circuit in it that is not currently in iRacing, it is the Nashville Superspeedway circuit, which will be in the schedule on June 20 this year.

Taking into account antecedents like the new Charlotte Roval version, the Daytona road version with the chicane before the finish line and the Bristol Dirt version, where all these updates came out in iRacing before they were run in real life, makes us think that in June this new Nashville Superspeedway oval circuit will arrive as a surprise.

That track is a 1.33-mile (2.145 km) oval located about 30 miles southeast of the city of Nashville and opened in 2001. After hosting NASCAR Xfinity, NASCAR Truck and even IndyCar races, it was closed in 2011 due to low race attendance and the high costs of maintaining a NASCAR-rated track, leaving the track for private events only. However, last year, Dover (owners of the circuit) announced that in 2021 they would reopen the circuit to host NASCAR on a regular championship date.

We can only wait for iRacing to announce its launch or maybe they will do it without saying anything as they have done before, although since it is NASCAR (their spoiled child) it is likely that they will make some big announcement.

See you on the track!
