Willow Springs will arrive to iRacing roster next week and the staff talk about its development and the graphic improvements introduced. Some of them are largely requested and needed by many of the old tracks already presents in the title, so we expect everybody can benefit from these updates sooner or later.
Willow Springs was a challenging yet fun project for our team. Due to the unique landscape, the project pushed them hard to innovate. We developed advanced multi-material shaders, we finally debut the foliage system, and we have completely re-done our off-track terrain process.
Our whole team contributed towards this result, from our multi-decade veterans to our amazing new hires who have brought so much energy to the company. These improvements will be on new tracks and eventually rolled out to older tracks.
Our broadcast team will be relieved to have more placement options for their cameras with a new high-quality five-layer terrain process.
Our tree implementation received a complete overhaul fixing significant lighting and shading issues present in the former model. Our quality bar gets moved up yet again, with many more tooling, pipeline, and rendering improvements in the works for the future.
