iRacing: 2025 Season 1 Patch 2 Release Notes

This Patch Release for iRacing 2025 Season 1 includes various improvements, updates, and fixes across multiple areas of the simulator.

The primary changes impact the anti-cheat system, race control, AI racing, graphics, vehicles, and tracks.

Detailed Changes

Simulation

Anti-Cheat
  • Outdated EasyAntiCheat (Kamu EAC) files have been renamed and relocated to avoid confusion with the currently active Epic Games EasyAntiCheat (EOS) version.
  • Additional steps have been taken to remove the previous generation of iRacing’s Anti-Cheat system (Kamu/EAC).
  • The iRacing Updater will now prompt users to uninstall the old Kamu/EAC version of EasyAntiCheat if it is still installed. If you choose “No,” it will not prompt again.
Race Servers
  • Adjusted the scheduling process for Open Practice Sessions.
Race Control
  • Fixed an issue where a “Lucky Dog” driver could be incorrectly forced to give up spots after a delayed green flag.
  • Added an admin override for the consecutive single-file restart rule using the !csf N command (default: 2-lap gap, range: 1-10 laps).
  • Consecutive single-file restarts will not occur during Green-White-Checkered (GWC) laps.
AI Racing
  • AI drivers now recover better from crashes or off-track incidents during formation laps.
Graphics
  • Updated the mip map tossing algorithm.
  • Fixed a compatibility issue with certain OpenXR runtime states.
  • Resolved an issue causing random simulator crashes on Windows 10 for Intel 9th and 10th-generation CPUs.

Cars

GTP
  • Reduced friction on plank hulls to minimize grounding and snagging.
NASCAR Cup Series Gen 7
  • Updated drafting configurations for super speedway racing.
Dallara P217
  • Adjusted damage model material properties to reduce sparks from ground contact.
Dirt Mini Stock
  • Updated hyperextension limits in the damage model.
Dirt Sprint Car (410)
  • Updated iRacing setups for longer race lengths.
Ferrari 499P
  • Adjusted vehicle plank hull parameters to slightly reduce friction, prevent ground snags on curbs, and minimize bouncing.
Ligier JS P320
  • Fixed incorrect windshield reflection areas.
Lotus 79
  • Adjusted sidepod hull materials to reduce sparks.
McLaren 720S GT3 EVO
  • Slightly increased break limits for the rear panel.
NASCAR Whelen Tour Modified
  • Updated iRacing setups.
SCCA Spec Racer Ford
  • Increased break damage threshold for rear wheels and adjusted bodywork detachment properties to prevent excessive bouncing.
Super Dirt Late Model
  • Updated iRacing setups for longer race lengths.
Super Late Model
  • Updated iRacing setups.

Tracks

Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours
  • Added a slowdown penalty to prevent racers from using the pit exit to cut Turn 1.
Huset’s Speedway
  • Updated track initialization to dry and rough up the apron, discouraging its use for racing.
  • Fixed an issue where some loose dirt was missing from track initialization.
Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway (Dirt Mini Oval)
  • Adjusted time penalties for drivers attempting to gain an advantage below the yellow hose.
Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli (Grand Prix & Grand Prix 2007)
  • Increased slowdown penalty for cutting through the gravel at the Turn 1-2 complex.
Silverstone Circuit (International)
  • Added a slowdown penalty to prevent racers from using the runoff at the final corner to gain speed at the start of qualifying.
Sonoma Raceway
  • Fixed a race server crash issue that could occur when an event at this track used Short Pace Laps and Rolling Starts with more than 60 participants.
Virginia International Raceway (Grand Course & Full Course)
  • Added a slowdown penalty to prevent racers from taking a shortcut through the South Course pit lane.
[Legacy] Silverstone Circuit – 2008 (Grand Prix, Historic Grand Prix & Southern)
  • Adjusted slowdown penalty at Club corner.
