iRacing: Confirmed Season 4 Content for 2023

Before iRacing publishes the official notes and all the rumors are confirmed or not, we’re giving you a quick overview of what awaits us next week in the new iRacing Season.

GTP

The IMSA GTP grid is now complete with the addition of the two missing models: the Porsche 963 and the Acura ARX-06. We’ve talked about them several times before, and here are some screenshots and videos for you.

Acura ARX-06

Porsche 963

Will we make the leap to the Hypercars competing at Le Mans? We’ll see how the licensing situation evolves with MSGM involved.

Zandvoort, Ledenon & Kern County

Two new tracks and an update to the Dutch track where we enjoyed the best Formula 1 race of the season last week. The novelties, like Ledenon and Kern, are small circuits, but in the case of Kern, they offer the possibility to race in completely different categories, such as dirt oval and asphalt oval.

On the other hand, Ledenon is part of the regional F4 calendar and will be integrated into the framework that iRacing has announced with the FIA for that category.

Pontiac Grand Prix

iRacing continues to cater to NASCAR nostalgics with this new addition to the 1987 season roster. This time it’s the Pontiac Grand Prix, a car that we know very little about in these parts.

Ferrari 296 GT3

Confirmed on Saturday in the late afternoon on social media. It becomes the second simulator after Assetto Corsa Competizione to include it. We already discussed after the car’s unveiling earlier this year that it was a very enticing addition after using the 488 model as a base for so many years.

A New Formula

Rumors are circulating, with quite a bit of controversy and several bans, that a new formula car will also be introduced this season to replace the old but reliable FR 3.5. On Twitter, we took a shot at it five months ago when it came out in Gran Turismo 7, and it’s possible that we got it right. We’ll see in a few days.

Rain?

The staff has relatively recently stated that it won’t be available for this season, but we have several team members who think they’re being deceptive and could surprise us as early as this Wednesday. Personally, I still believe it’s something too complex to be launched on a specific day dictated by the schedule.

It seems that things will be quite dynamic in the coming months, and there will be developments on many fronts, just as they announced to us in the summer. Not only in terms of content, but we will also see an update of the simulator to bring it up to date. I hope they remember to address the Force Feedback.

See you on the track!
