The new 100% Argentine simulation platform continues to make steady progress in its development. A few months ago, it was a surprising piece of news that the simulator with Argentine physics, categories, and circuits was launched. Some days later, the beta was confirmed, which could already be purchased and tested, just like today, on Steam:

We are continuing our work tirelessly on our simulation software, PISTA Motorsport. This month, significant progress has been made in content creation, bug fixes, and the addition of new features. We’ve taken a giant leap forward in the area of physics and force feedback, as well as in the rain mode, which is now fully functional. The substantial advancements in the platform make us proud and bring us closer to the dream of having a South American car simulator on par with any foreign product.
We are consistently expanding the content in our software, thanks to its easy integration and adaptability, allowing us to achieve realistic behavior for all the vehicles we include. In this case, the latest addition to the simulator is the Chevrolet Chevy from the Procar 4000 B category. We are delighted to include this Argentine classic and have achieved realistic physics by comparing them with real data from the category’s cars.
With this new addition, we now have a rear-wheel-drive car with significant power (similar to the F3 Metropolitana), a front-wheel-drive car with low power (like the Turismo Pista Clase 1), and, in the case of the Procar 4000, rear-wheel-drive cars with high power and low load compared to the F3 Metropolitana.
As for the circuits, we have made a significant addition that we believe is essential: the Termas de Río Hondo International Circuit. It is one of the best circuits in Argentina, hosting international and national categories on numerous occasions. We’ve created a great version of the circuit, capturing its essence and precision from real life, making it a valuable addition in terms of content for our simulator.
This circuit is one of the few in the country approved for international competitions, making it a great advantage to have it in our platform alongside the other circuits already present. We are very pleased with the ease of integrating new content within our software, as we are convinced that one of the strong points of PISTA Motorsport will undoubtedly be the vast quantity and variety of cars and circuits.
In addition to the content additions, we have worked intensively on gameplay features. We’ve implemented a REALISTIC gearbox system, where cars with gearboxes requiring the use of a clutch will now make it mandatory, and the car will not allow for proper gear shifts without using the clutch unless the player activates the automatic clutch assist or, of course, uses a car that doesn’t require the clutch. Mistakes in shifting will also progressively damage the gearbox, so players must pay close attention, as incorrect shifts not only cost time but can also damage the car.
We’ve also added a manual car starting system, where, if configured by the user, they can manually start the engine by using a button of their choice.
Rain mode has been greatly improved, integrating the entire dynamic weather system, causing the track to become progressively wet when it rains. This includes visual effects such as raindrops, fog, water droplets on the car and windshield, loss of grip, puddle formation (and how they affect the car’s behavior), as well as the drying of the track in the absence of rain.
Furthermore, we’ve integrated a new tire wear system, where tire performance deteriorates based on how harshly they are treated on the track. This not only dynamically affects behavior but also has visual consequences on the tires. We believe this is an essential system, and we are pleased to be on par with the best simulators on the market. A fair and realistic system is crucial, punishing tire abuse and requiring players to handle the car smoothly and realistically to maximize its performance.
We are making significant progress in the core of our software, and our goal is to continue with this pace of continuous improvement. While it’s not easy to compete with simulators with years of development and large teams working on them, we believe we are in a good position and have achieved a lot so far. Our intention is to stay on the same path, making progress in the simulator and gradually achieving improvements to provide an excellent gaming experience. In future versions, our goal is to fully implement the VR (virtual reality) system, as well as other crucial factors in a simulator. We are working extensively on a 3D grass system to enrich the graphical environment of the circuits and a replay mode with a photo mode to make the most of the graphical aspects of our simulator when capturing new images.
Additionally, we are in the process of integrating the GARAGE MODE, where players can create, modify, load, save, and share their car setups, allowing them to work more intensely on their car’s setup to suit their preferences. We are confident that we are on the right path, constantly advancing and addressing any issues that arise. We appreciate the support of our community, who consistently provide ideas and help us ensure the development stays on the right track.
Stay tuned for future updates, and keep an eye out for potential reviews from the Boxthislap team.
