While we were speculating in the program about what Rennsport was all about and what it would bring to the “simracing” ecosystem, the Rennsport summit was taking place in Munich to provide the first official data and show the guests what this mysterious matter is all about. The first thing to note is that it appears to have the approval of BMW and Porsche, as well as ESL’s support and advice for the eSports component.
We don’t know who is behind the project, but they say 45 people are involved, which is quite a large number at this point. Some things have already been said, and this is what we will tell you in the following lines.
Rennsport, according to its CEO, is looking to settle on three basic pillars. The first is the simulation, so the gameplay shown is quite decent (for alpha) and clearly located in the simulation’s hard sector. The second pillar is technological in nature, with the goal of creating an environment of mods and security for authors so that they can monetize their work using tools provided by Rennsport or others.
And the third, based on eSports competition, will catapult simracing to a new level with the help of its partner ESL. The following are some of its CEO’s statements:
