rFactor 2 – New Competition System coming in December

New month, new route map. As usual, the people of Studio 397 have launched a new roadmap which has some things that are very exciting, among them, the continued development of the new UI and the upcoming iRacing competition system.

Regarding the new UI, they keep working on both (the current one and the new one) in parallel, in order to bring all the options of the original one to the next one without losing any functionality inside the simulator. The thing is that this is taking time away from the developers, so they have decided to make the definitive change to the new UI before the end of the year.

In addition, the definitive launch of the new UI, allows to leave well established the bases for the new rFactor 2 competition system, which shares many things of iRacing. This system will consist of the following: we choose the series in which we want to participate, so the simulator tells us what content we need to run it completely. Then, we only have to register to the session we want to run from that series, and the system will automatically place us in some server that is available to run our split. Then we will be able to see the results of our races in the corresponding section.

They do not yet indicate how the subject of licenses or scores will be, as they do at present in iRacing, RaceRoom or Assetto Corsa Competizione, but we want to think that it will be something quite similar. Nor do they mention what the series in question will be that can be run when it is launched. What we do know is that in December it will enter the public beta phase where they will be able to collect the necessary information to make the decisions corresponding to the above.

Besides this, they are also working on improving the graphic and rendering qualities in the simulator, in order to improve it visually more and more. At the same time, they are working on the Cadillac DPi-V.R which will be competing in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship from 2017, which will increase the catalogue of prototypes in the simulator.

See you on the track!
