SRP-GI: Kit to invert your SRP Pedals

I have been using SimRacingPro pedals for more than half a year and the truth is that pedals are of a very high quality, as seen in the analysis. No noise, no maintenance, with top quality finishes and with a touch of novelty necessary in this very conservative panorama of peripherals. It is not usual to see piston pedals, and if memory serves me correctly, they are the only ones currently sold on the market, so all the modifications that can be made with them are something to be taken into account to accommodate all potential simRacers, who of course have different needs.

In previous articles we already told you about the possibility of using them without the clutch, about the release of the Formula models with larger plates, and now we go into the possibility of using them inverted.

The inversion kit costs for 175 euros and consists of a plate similar to the one that comes by default on the pedals and four supports of the same anodized aluminum so characteristic and that looks so good. The plate has a considerable weight, so the package is large and heavy, but it comes perfectly packaged with the usual SRP silkscreen printing. Hardware is also included for installation of the assembly.

The installation is not easy, although it is not complicated, but it is true that we will have to disassemble the entire current pedalboard to use the plate that comes with the pedals on the reverse side. This will take us more time than David uses in the video, as there will always be some screws that resist after months without moving.

With enough time we can leave the plate empty and turn it upside down to install the controller and the brake and clutch pedals. We are going to use the classic inverted arrangement that keeps the throttle at the bottom and has the other two pedals at the top, so the throttle goes on the new plate we have bought.

Once all the layout is done, it is time to start installing the brackets and join the two plates from the sides. Using the long screws for the longer brackets and the short screws for the ditto brackets. Once the assembly is finished it is time to reinstall it in the cockpit using the holes in the corners designed for this purpose.

Speaking of sensations… what is clear is that the brake and clutch have changed feeling, although not abruptly of course, and the change is subtle and delicate to say the least. They feel more docile than in the traditional way, and react better inverted. When stepping on the pedal you notice a greater ease that allows you to modulate the braking even more. As I say, it is not an easy change to notice, although depending on the shoes you use, it will be more evident or not.

The good thing is that when inverted, everything stays in the same position, so there is no need to recalibrate or adaptation or readjustment period, as long as the base plate is placed back in the same way in the cockpit. This is something worth mentioning.

At the moment and after a week of use, the structure is tremendously sturdy and solid, and there are no noises (even less than when they were in the original position) or anything like that, so it is a very interesting change for those who are interested in giving a change to their acquisition, since the price of this kit is even lower than some commercial variants of pedals much more sold and of lower category.

And all this using the original model that already preview the existence of this kit many months ago, a success on the part of SimRacingPro that joins the possibility of choosing now new colors for the contact plates.

See you on the track!
