Last events of simRacing manufacturers have left Thrustmaster slightly wounded. Generally speaking, there was a strange feeling about the future of the company concerning simracing devices after a mild T-GT II release, so the company has made a statement.
Summarizing what we have seen these last couple of months;
- Fanatec announced an entry Direct Drive device
- Thrustmaster announced a new steering wheel base
- T-GT II seems to be a very subtle upgrade from first model
- Leaked pictures from an unknown GT DD PRO, a licensed CSL DD for PS5
- Fanatec and Gran Turismo sign a new agreement
After this chronology and people expecting something more, Thrustmaster has finally published a tweet:
In the above picture, maybe the most important subject comes in the last paragraph, where new products are to be revealed by the end of the year, and are expected to fulfill desire of the fans… Fans are asking for a DD for at least 5 years. Time to make it happen.
