Until now, we have seen films based on Formula 1 (such as “Rush”) and Le Mans (as in “Ford v Ferrari”), and now we are presented with this adaptation of one of the most iconic stories in the World Rally Championship (WRC).
It’s the tale of Lancia’s battle against Audi, a rivalry that left a lasting mark on an era. The vehicle in focus is a rear-wheel-drive car with the mission of defeating the mighty German brand Audi and its Quattro models.
The film is scheduled for release on January 5th. We’ll have to wait and see how the experiment turns out.
The period was so epic and wild that even Amazon’s Grand Tour made reference to this story in a delightful 20-minute short film. You’ll have to check it out on the Dutch Prime Video channel.
