Once we have correctly installed Motec and we have verified that our telemetry data is displayed correctly, it is time to take the next step. In this article, we will configure Motec for our Sim.

Interface
Many of you have asked me how I have changed the background color of the interface. Personally, I like to use a dark background since I usually spend a lot of hours on the computer and I feel that having a dark background makes my eyesight less tired than constantly looking at a white background. To change the background you must go to Tools -> Options -> Colors. Then you can default theme.
In the next tab, Tools -> Options -> Fonts, you can change the font and its size for the channel description.

Workspace
To work with Motec it is important to know some concepts that will help us organize our information. In hierarchical order, we can define the following concepts:
This means that it is a membership relationship, that is, within a WorkSpace we will find a set of WorkBooks, within a WorkBook a set of WorkSheets and within a WorkSheet we can create the channels we want to analyze information. Next we will define each of the concepts:
Workspace: each of the projects that we have created from the beginning. For example, we can have a space for the Formula Renault 2.0, one for the Mazda MX5 and one for a GT3. If we want to change a project once we have opened one when opening the application, we can do it from File-> Workspace-> Open Workspace.
Workbook: each of the templates that we can create to organize the information. We can have a workbook for driving analysis, another for motor analysis, another for tire wear… etc.
Worksheet: it is the worksheet where we will add our graphs to analyze the data that we have imported in the file that we have collected. In each sheet we can create as many channels or graphics as we want. For example, we can create a channel to observe the speed that the vehicle carries along the lap and another graph to analyze its consumption per lap.
Channels: each of the graphics that we can create on each sheet. Speed, brake position, throttle position … etc.
In short, within each WorkSpace, we can organize our information into WorkBooks, WorkSheets and Channels.
Where can I find my laps?
In the tab located on the left, called Data, we can see the number of laps we have taken and their corresponding time. The fastest lap number we have made will be marked in a different color.
